Frequently asked questions

What does "down for everyone or just me" mean?

It means checking whether a website is actually offline for all users, or whether the problem is specific to your device or network. We check from an independent server to tell the difference.

The site shows as up, but I still can’t load it. Why?

If our server can reach it but you can’t, the issue is almost always local: your internet connection, DNS settings, browser cache, or a firewall/network block. Try another network or device.

Why might a working site show as down?

Some sites block automated checkers, require a login, or respond slowly or differently by region. In those cases our check can fail even though the site works in a normal browser.

How fresh are the results?

Each check is live. We briefly cache a result for about 30 seconds so repeated checks of the same site don’t hammer it.
